Coach XV ( 57 v 28) Presidents & Chairmen’s XV
Coach XV v Presidents & Chairmen’s XV
On a very cloudy day it was time for The battle of the WoS! Who was going to be the winner of the bragging rights?
With a pre match photo of both teams together, the game was underway. The days plan was for three thirds of twenty minutes, with the final third being a mixture of both teams.
Kick off time, Ken’s team regathered the ball straight from the kick off set straight on the attack, with Robbie Pritchard's (sponsored by Five Acres FastFit Tyres & Exhausts) XV holding strong in defence they were able to keep them at bay. Now was the time for Robbie’s XV, led by captain/brother Rory Pritchard (Forge Motorsport) to dance with the ball with Robbie himself scoring one and Harry Janneh (sponsored by D and A Morgan) scoring three tries in quick succession. Paul Reddan (sponsored by the Roberts Family) slotting three out of four of the conversions. Simon and Ken’s XV managed to rack some points on the board with the first third ending Robbie 26 - 7 Ken/Simon.
With the kick off of the second third Robbie’s XV knocked it up a gear and started to pick holes in the defence, running three tries in. Then straight from the restart, Harry was able to catch the ball at immense speed, straight out of the air and run unposed over for the try. Hitting back at Robbie XV. The rain had held off until now and the game changed, the ball was kept close in. Ken and Simon’s team were able to keep the pressure on and get another score. The second third came to an end with JC (available for sponsor) running a try in for team Robbie. The score 52-26. The most majestic site in all of rugby happened in this third of rugby. Prop forward Digger (available for sponsor), real name unknown. With his magical feet, slotting a conversion straight between the centre of the upright sticks.
The game was done, Robbie had the bragging rights over Ken and Simon but the game wasn’t over.
The teams mixed them self up and got ready for the final third. It was brother against brother, father against son, players against coach. With free flowing rugby form try line to try line, with both teams scoring one try a piece. The final score Robbie’s XV 57-28 President and Chairman’s XV..
