Westbury-on-Severn RFC (5 v 57) Old Patesians
Match report from yesterday's game vs Old Pats
WOS 5 - Old pats 57
A tough encounter at the KB stadium of light saw WoSRFC welcome old Patesians in what was set to be a tough counter.
First half saw a lot of well built up phases not get finished from WoSRFC, with pivots Paul Reddan (Roberts Family) and Jay Scott (available to sponsor) organising the attack. Unfortunately WoSRFC lacked the clinical edge required whilst old pats finished off everything they could. Some great runs and tackling from Max Kaufmann (The Lyon Inn) Rory Pritchard (Forge Motorsport) and Lee Prince (Westbury on Severn RFC) saw WoSRFC in many promising position and aided in keeping the relentless attack from Old pats at bay whilst the halftime score sat at 22-0.
After 40 minutes of intense rugby the game opened up for both teams with some promising breaks from Harry Janneh (D & A Morgan) James Colwell (available to sponsor) and Rych McKenzie.
Westbury kept chipping away robust Old Pats defensive line until eventually after a great break from Harry Janneh (D & A Morgan) and some great phases from the WoSRFC forwards, Lee Prince (Westbury on Severn RFC) found the whitewash for the blue and whites. Despite some great attack and great defence the WoSRFC boys began to tire and through came the relentless old pats. The final whistle saw the scoreboard sat at 5-57. Match over and onwards to next week where we welcome Cirencester RFC in our final league game of the season.
Our men of the match were Alex Head on his astounding debut performance, and James Colwell for his organisation and defensive work at scrum half (both available to sponsor).
We will see you next weekend for the last chance to view the boys this season in the league. See you there.
