Cainscross (17 v 32) Westbury-on-Severn RFC

Apologies for the delay in the report a few IT issues in the Westbury on Severn RFC press office overnight

A day on the road this weekend to our old rivals at Cainscross rfc saw a hard fought victory for the lads in blue and white

After the epic rains and storms of last week the sun was out in the Stroud Valley GWR trains whizzing by & the resident WoS spotter answering questions from our resident photographer Pete Wilson (excellent photos again Pete )

…Victory Park was looking resplendent & packed (well the car park was) football rugby and dogs everywhere.

The game kicked off with WOS looking keen fresh & hungry there were some great passages of play that saw the score board ticking over & the WoS medic (Aron) & team Manager Russ busier than the Chuckle Brothers in a tennis tournament …some miles covered today fellas

Bandages and deep heat applied all was well…including some steri strips and a field dressing for veteran 8 Lee Prince now sporting a new ‘Harry Potter’ style scar!

Half time saw WOS leading.

The second half was another battle of defence west’ ending the game 32 points to 17

The Westbury tries coming from Arron Hudson (available for sponsorship) Paul Reddan (sponsored by the Roberts family), Andrew cueto (sponsor pending) Jay Scott (available for sponsorship) Harry J (available for sponsorship) Robbie Pritchard sponsored by Five Acres FastFit Tyres & Exhausts & Paul slotted a conversion …..

A good day on the road with some areas to improve on but definitely a good start to the season.

All in all a job well done lads

A massive thanks to our travelling supporters, our on field Captain for the day (Rory Pritchard) & of course Cainscross for the game & post match hospitality - see you back at ours next year lads.

On on West’ back to business on Tuesday at training 6.45 for 7pm - come on down if you want to get involved.

Rugby players in blue and yellow striped uniforms gathered on a grassy field listening to coach or official during a game or practice session, with a small building, trees, and cloudy sky in the background.
