Bream 2 (27 v 0) Westbury-on-Severn RFC

Bream 2nds 27 Westbury 0

West made the short trip deep into the sticks to Bream.

Travelling with a bare 15 for the first time this season West were greeted by what appeared to be every resident of Bream donning there unmistakeable rugby kit. Facing a squad of roughly 25 this was sure to require every ounce of fight from the players in blue and white today.

As expected the first half was very tightly contested with West frustrating the hosts and stopping them with some up front tackling and strong scrummage technique. However the hosts took an 8-0 lead into half time, with West rueing missed opportunities.

The second half was all Breams, with countless fresh legs to call on and a few injuries creeping into the Westbury side Bream began to capitalise on their numbers advantage with Westbury having no choice but to play on with less than a full lineup. A few scuffles and cards between the teams saw the game finish with a victory for the well drilled home side .

A big Shoutout to everyone who donned the blue and white today with a few visitors helping us out. Big props to Rory Pritchard captaining the team for the second time under very difficult circumstances! Post game awards were handed to Arron Hudson and Justin Thackeray for their resilience in defence throughout the game.

Onto next week and another trip away to Minchinhampton.

Drive on West!!

Rugby players engaged in a scrum on a grassy field, with some players wearing blue and white uniforms and others in black and red uniforms. In the background, there are trees, a scoreboard, and a few spectators.
